Senior Associate Scientist/Scientist I

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and detail oriented Senior Associate Scientist or Scientist with prior antibody expression and characterization experiences to join the Eliteimmune Research and Early development (eRED) division. The successful candidate will work closely with the B cell analysis team and assay development team to identify and characterize monoclonal antibodies with high therapeutic values. The candidate will also be responsible for the generation and characterization of other recombinant proteins in multiple host cell systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD or MS with a minimum of 2 years industry experience, or a BS with a minimum of 4 years industry experience.
  • Experience in protein expression using suspension cultures of mammalian cells (HEK, CHO)
  • Purification of recombinant proteins and antibodies using affinity-based chromatographic separation techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong scientific foundation of keeping detailed electronic experimental records

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Characterization of produced proteins and antibodies using SDS-PAGE, analytical SEC, Octet, SPR, flow cytometry, and Luminex
  • Hands-on experience using automated protein purification systems such as AKTA or similar
  • Construction of expression vectors for antibodies, antibody fragments, and proteins using transient and stable mammalian cells

Scientist I/II - Protein Engineering

Seeking a Ph.D. level scientist with prior experience with protein engineering and structure-based antigen design. The candidate will work with scientists to design novel antigens and antibodies to support the development of novel anti-viral vaccines and therapeutic antibodies. The candidate will lead and execute campaigns to screen and characterize protein therapeutics, including binding affinity, therapeutic efficacy, and mechanism of action studies in vitro and in vivo. Must be able to design and perform experiments independently, analyze and communicate results, and maintain highly detailed records. The candidate must also maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant literature and techniques.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD with 5+ years of training or working experience in protein engineering, structural biology, molecular biology, or other related disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive and perform independent innovative research
  • Extensive experience with different protein expression platforms (e.g. mammalian, insect and bacterial expression systems)
  • Experience with diverse protein purification methods (e.g. affinity column purification and size exclusion chromatography) and equipment (e.g. AKTA Avant system)
  • Hands-on and extensive experience in at least one of the following bioanalytical techniques: surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology by Biacore, Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) by Octet, or Luminex.
  • Knowledgeable in the field of rational protein design and characterization

  • BS/MS/PhD in biological sciences with 2+ years of experience in laboratory management or 5+ years of experience working full time in a laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices
  • Prior BSL-2 experience
  • Experience with basic aseptic laboratory techniques (membrane filtration, autoclaving)
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong scientific foundation of keeping detailed electronic experimental records

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein expression and purification
  • Prior experience with handling and processing biological samples (blood in particular)

Flow Cytometry Technician

Will be responsible for weekly maintenance of equipment, routine sample analysis and data interpretation. Will work closely with research scientists to support our antibody discovery pipeline.
